Recently we had our last Tummler School of the summer season with changemaker Janet Hayward, OBE
We found out how one of the world’s top 50 teachers is inspiring transformational change for better wellbeing through children, their families and local communities coming together to tackle food waste and make better food choices.
Janet shared the story of the Big Bocs Bwyd project, winner last month of the prestigious Times Education Supplement prize for best ‘Community and Collaboration’.
What would Janet Hayward say if she has 1 minute with First Minister, Mark Drakeford? Find out below👇
Janet is now Executive Headteacher of Oak Field Primary in Barry as well as Cadoxton Primary, both schools serving areas of disadvantage. Cadoxton is an Ashoka Changemaker School, part of an international network which recognises schools for their vision, innovation and influence.
Each month Grow Social Capital creates a time and space to learn from inspiring people who are making a difference in our communities. Our online school is growing the tribe of Tummlers – those individuals who get the party going in their communities. By growing not only their number but their capability, connectivity and confidence can we enhance the purposefulness of communities.
