Tramspiration in Melbourne

by | 18 Dec, 2024 | Skills and Capacity

Grow Social Capital’s passion is for using untapped resources in our communities and transforming them into positive opportunities.

So while Grow founder Andy Green is in Melbourne he recently shared the power of his ‘Tubespiration’ creativity on the London Underground with a little bit of ’Tramspiration’ Down Under, where you can turn any journey into a creative odyssey.

A 10,500 mile spin off from the ‘Tubespiration’ programme where Andy uses the Tube as a creativity classroom, whether it is the Melbourne tram or the London Underground we’re proving it works for provoking new ideas, stimulating disruptive thinking, and re-energising creative minds to transform creative mindfulness.

Putting some of Andy’s social capital to use, his dear friend Ross Monaghan, Regional Chair of the International Association of Business Communicators Asia Pacific made the idea happen with an enthusiastic crew making it a memorable journey from the tram stops at Deakin University to the nearby RSPCA Centre in Melbourne.

Tubespiration in 2025 in London

Good news for anyone in London interested in transforming their own, or their team’s creative spark, in the New Year.

Andy is running a limited number of Tubespiration journeys on the London Tube during January and February as a fundraiser for the Modern Cockney Festival.

Consisting of a two-hour workshop featuring a one stop return Tube journey from your nearest station, the bespoke session will get you to identify any live creative challenge in your work or wider life, and uses a series of structured prompts, guidance, and tools to spark new insights, inspirations, and ideas for better solutions to your task.

The Tubespiration session will:

  • transform individual creative thinking capability
  • sharpen opportunity-spotting skills,
  • help turn a mundane part of the daily schedule into a rich, imaginative experience

It’s also great for team building or priming groups for a collective creative challenge.

In a time-poor age of shrinking thinking space, growing hyper-attention – with lower boredom thresholds –Tramspiration and Tubespiration are effective because they capitalize on rare moments in our daily schedules for incubating new ideas in our busier lives. But only if you know how to yield its rich potential and harvest the creative opportunities it generates.

The limited offer of a 2 hour session, for up to eight people, is available at a special price of £450 with income going to the Modern Cockney Festival.
